Workshops

I have years of experience teaching workshops and regular classes in movement, body awareness, contemporary dance and clowning for both professional actors/actresses or those in the process of becoming professionals, as well as non-professionals of all ages and children with special needs.

As a hospital clown with Pallapupas, I have also taught workshops and lectures for health professionals, using clowning as a tool to improve the emotional state of both the professionals themselves and the patients and their families.

This experience has led me to understand pedagogy as a space for growth and mutual learning that nourishes and is nourished by my artistic activity. I conceive the connection we have with playfulness and our bodies as a space to connect with sincerity and creativity, being able to share them in front of the eyes of other people. This sharing is revealed as a liberating act that keeps us in constant dialogue with ourselves and the world.

Currently, I mainly teach intensive clowning and Authentic Movement workshops.

AUTHENTIC MOVEMENT

Authentic Movement is a practice that comes from Dance Movement Therapy, originated in the 1950s by Mary Starks Whitehouse and developed by Janet Adler and Joan Chodorow. It is based on the influences of Carl Jung’s psychology, expressionist dance, somatic practices, and contemplative and spiritual practices. It allows us to develop a deep psycho-corporal listening. We cultivate a non-judgmental look, both internal and external, towards ourselves and towards others, enriching our body, emotional, symbolic and spiritual awareness.

Since 2010 I have been using Authentic Movement in acting training as a tool to enhance listening, creativity and honesty. In 2015/2016 I took specialized training in Authentic Movement with Maria Elena Garcia; this training allowed me to delve into the deep waters of this practice.

CLOWN

In clown workshops, I apply the sensitivity that I have acquired through dance and bodywork in favor of humor and a playful spirit. I like to guide the participants on a journey where they can share their vulnerability and their internal truths that are hidden by social behavior.

I adapt the workshop according to the context, ages and theatrical and/or clown level.
